The reserves had their 2nd league game today and made the journey to Eversley and California, just south of Reading. With Nabil out injured and Adi called up to the first team there were starts for Louie and Fahd.

Louie took less than 4 minutes to open the scoring after Alfie’s corner was headed back across goal by James Hutchins for Louie to poke home. Within a minute he thought he’d made it 2-0 when Dillon’s intelligent ball found Louie who got there before the keeper to score. Unfortunately the linesman’s flag went up, presumably for Bryn who was adjudged active, in our opinion incorrectly.

With both teams trying to play good football on a fantastic playing surface chances came quite frequently for Levy, including a couple more chances for Louie who was causing problems regularly.

It was Eversley who equalised after they were awarded a free kick 25 yards out. Their player struck a 25 yard beauty giving Fahd no chance at all, leaving the score 1-1 at half time.

Early chances in the 2nd half fell to Bryn and Zak, but it was good work on the right by Harry Misselbrook that won us a free kick. Bryn floated the ball in and the keeper couldn’t hold it, with it falling to Matt who got a shot in that hit the post, Reece was the first to react firing home to put Levy 2-1 ahead.

Harry Barrett burst through a couple of players in the area before being brought down with what looked like a clumsy rugby tackle but the ref waved play on.

Just before the end Eversley were reduced to 10 men which enabled Levy to hang on for the win and put them 3rd in the league with a game in hand.

Steve fielded five 16 year olds , and seven of the 14 had played in the U18 game on Thursday night and four others are 18, all gaining valuable experience in senior football.
