Leverstock Green continued their run of form as they won 2-0 at Harpenden Town in the first round of the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday night. It was their fourth straight win in all competitions, three of them with clean sheets.

John Smith opened the scoring in the 17th minute, and Frankie Jowle added the second in the 68th minute with a superb chip into the top corner of the net. The same two players scored when Leverstock won the league game at Harpenden last month.

The reward for tonight’s win is a home tie against Hitchin Town or Welwyn Garden City in the second round.
