Season: 2025/26

(H) AFC Rushden & Diamonds

A late goal from new signing Joel Onu gave Leverstock Green their third win from four pre-season friendlies on Tuesday night.

Visitors AFC Rushden & Diamonds from the Northern Premier League Midland Division dominated possession in the first half, but Leverstock defended well, and might have snatched a goal late in the half when a great cross from Brad Robinson just eluded a couple of heads as it flew across goal.

The second half was more evenly-contested as both sides made plenty of changes. Onu went close to scoring in the 76th minute with a shot that struck the bar, but in the 83rd minute Leverstock struck on a quick break and Onu went clean through to deliver a superb shot lofted over the keeper for the winning goal.

(H) Harrow Borough

Leverstock Green continued their pre-season build-up with an impressive 4-2 win over Isthmian League South Central side Harrow Borough, in the first game played in front of the two new stands at the Lords Builders Merchants Stadium.

Again it was a side featuring a lot of players new to the club, but early signs are looking good. The visitors took the lead in the 5th minute, however Leverstock struck back in the 10th minute through John Gyabaah. Harrow went back in front in the 22nd minute through an unfortunate deflection, but Leverstock hit back again and equalised four minutes later through a shot that went underneath the keeper’s body. In the 29th minute they took the lead for the first time as Juan Pablo Velasco set up Kai Nemoto, and four minutes before half time Ryan Carruthers played a one-two with Nemoto before running through to score a fourth.

There were no further goals in the second half, but there was still some good football on display despite the sweltering heat.

The reserves started their pre-season build up with a game at London Colney which the home side won 3-2.

(A) Cockfosters

Leverstock Green played their second pre-season friendly on Tuesday night away to Cockfosters, and came away with a 1-0 win from a goal in the 20th minute. Again there were many trialists on show along with the retained players, and the side will continue to develop over the remaining six friendlies.

The next game is on Saturday at home to Harrow Borough, a change to the previously scheduled fixture.

vs

(A) Crawley Green

Leverstock Green’s opening pre-season friendly on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw away to Crawley Green.

The Leverstock side consisted of returning players and a number of trialists. Leverstock took the lead in the 78th minute with a header from a corner, but the home side found an equaliser four minutes from time with a close range finish after the Leverstock keeper had parried a shot.

Next up is a visit to Cockfosters on Tuesday night with a 7.45 pm kick-off.
