Leverstock Green followed up a defeat at Harpenden Town with a midweek win over Broadfields United.
Saturday’s game at Harpenden was played in sweltering conditions. The home side took the lead shortly after the first hydration break, but Leverstock hit back with an equaliser from a trialist before half time. The second half saw many changes of personnel, and again it was just after a hydration break that Harpenden went back in front at 2-1, and they subsequently scored a late goal to win the game 3-1.
Tuesday night saw the first home friendly against Broadfields United. Ryan Carruthers scored his second goal of pre-season in the first half, as did the trialist who scored in the second half to give Leverstock a 2-0 win.
This coming Saturday’s game against Biggleswade United has been switched to the Lords Builders Merchants Stadium, as Biggleswade’s pitch is not in a fit state to play due to the dry conditions. The kick-off is at 1pm.
