Leverstock Green missed out on a cup final place, and a chance to retain the trophy they won last season, as they were beaten 3-1 at home by Oxhey Jets in the semi-finals of the St Mary’s Cup on Tuesday.

Goals from Sean Giordmaina and Henry Marku put Jets into an early 2-0 lead, and a further goal by Luke Jones in the second half made it 3-0. However Luis Brooker took the ball round the keeper to pull a goal back, scoring his first goal for the club and the team’s first goal in six games.

The Green side can now concentrate on trying to secure some points from their final five league games to stave off the threat of relegation.
