Leverstock Green began their preparations for season 2026/27 with a win in their opening friendly on Saturday.
Leverstock took on the newly-merged Dunstable F.C. on the 3G surface at Creasey Park. The Leverstock side in the first half consisted of all returning players from last season, and the half ended goalless.
In the second half a number of trialists were introduced, and two of them found the scoresheet as Leverstock scored twice in two minutes. The first was a superb long-range strike in the 65th minute, and the second a finish from close range after a good move. The home side pulled a goal back with a header from a corner in the 82nd minute.
More details about this season’s squad will be released over the next week or so. The next friendly is on Tuesday night (7th July) away to Everett Rovers, newly-promoted to the SSML Premier Division. Kick-off is 7.45 pm.
